Well, the Detroit Tigers have finally made a bullpen signing. Even though it isn’t the biggest signing, it is still a very good one for Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski.
On Monday, the Tigers signed Tom Gorzelanny to a one-year deal. The deal is worth $1 million.

Gorzelanny spent the last three years with the Milwaukee Brewers. Last season he pitched an impressive 0.86 ERA in 23 games. The 32-year old however spent the first half of the season recovering from shoulder surgery which he underwent in December of 2013. This contract is a nice deal for Gorzelanny to help him gain a little more value for when he hits free agency next year.
The Tigers bullpen had a 4.29 ERA last year which was one of the leagues worst. They also lacked left handed talent in the bullpen as well. Even with the presence of Phil Coke, the left handed pitchers were weak for Detroit. This deal could help the Tigers inch a little bit closer to a World Series crown now with a bullpen of Gorzelanny, Al Alburquerque, Bruce Rondon, Joakim Soria, and closer Joe Nathan.
The Tigers do have a lot of young talent that they could have thrown into Gorzelanny’s spot. Now they have a good left handed pitcher, the bullpen is looking much better already.
